One SDR does lists, copy, calls and LinkedIn badly. You get five specialists who each do one of them properly, for less than the loaded cost of two hires.

Outsourced SDR team versus hiring one

Industry figures put a fully loaded SDR near $85,000 to $125,000 a year once salary, commission, benefits, tools and management time are counted, with three to four months of ramp.

What the five specialists actually do

GTM engineer. Builds every list in Clay on a waterfall across five to six data vendors. Verified direct dials, decision makers only.

Strategy and copy. Chooses the campaigns, writes the angles, kills the losers. Three angles per campaign instead of one sequence.

Email, LinkedIn, phone. A dedicated specialist per channel. 1,000 dials a week, executive LinkedIn, warmed sending domains.

    What it costs

Published, not hidden behind a discovery call. Where you sit depends on whether outbound is proven at your company yet.

    How it starts

Day 1: Onboarding. A 21 question intake, your ICP, exclusions and senders. About two hours of your time across the first fortnight.

Days 2 to 10: Build and approve. Lists, scripts, sequences and warmed domains. Nothing goes out that you have not approved.

Days 6 to 7: Live. Three channels running. First meetings week three, steady state by week six.

Month 2: Tuning. Losing angles are killed, ICP filters tighten on disposition data, and the objection library is written from your calls.

Month 3: Your first checkpoint. The playbook is handed over and a monthly meeting number is agreed in writing, based on evidence rather than a promise made before launch.

Month 4 to 6: Scale or hand over. Add a second play, open a new segment, and leave with every list, script, sequence, recording and playbook. See the full implementation roadmap.

Month 12: Your decision. Keep scaling, take it in house with our help, or hire against the playbook we wrote. Roughly a third of clients do exactly that.

    Questions buyers actually ask

Is an outsourced SDR team cheaper than hiring? In year one, usually. A fully loaded SDR runs $85,000 to $125,000 with three to four months of ramp, and you still need a manager and a tool stack. Over five years, in house wins. The real question is whether you already know outbound works for you.

Are the reps dedicated to us? Your pod is assigned to your account with a named roster you meet before kickoff. Every specialist has four to six years of experience and cold callers have six or more. We do not hire entry level.

Are they offshore? Our team spans Toronto, the United States and South Africa. Ask us directly which people would staff your account and where they sit. We will tell you before you sign, not after.

What if we want to bring it in house later? That is a normal ending, not a failure. You keep every list, script, sequence, recording and the documented playbook, and we will introduce you to BDRs from our network.

How do we know it is working before revenue lands? We agree a phase by phase measurement plan in the order form. Early months are judged on activity, deliverability and conversations by title. Meetings and pipeline come next. Closed won lands on your sales cycle, not ours.

Can you work alongside our internal SDRs? Yes, and it is common. We take a new segment while your team keeps the existing one, with exclusion lists enforced on both sides so nobody gets contacted twice.

    Worth a call?

Bring your salary bands and your current tool renewals. We will build the hire versus pod comparison with your real numbers, and if hiring wins we will say so.

For mid-market and enterprise buyers, this matters because a buying committee of six to ten stakeholders needs coordinated multi-channel coverage, not one person's bandwidth. For enterprise and mid-market accounts with long sales cycles, buying signals are how we identify which of the six to ten stakeholders in a committee is actually active right now, rather than blasting the whole committee on the same static cadence.
